Privacy

How your information is handled

Andrew Heggie Therapy collects and holds personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches) Act 2017.

Your information is used to provide counselling services, manage enquiries and appointments, maintain appropriate clinical records, and communicate with you about your care. Information is stored securely and is not sold or shared with third parties without your consent, except where required or permitted by law.

Confidentiality is central to counselling. There are limited exceptions, including imminent risk of harm to you or another person, court orders or subpoenas, and mandatory reporting obligations under Victorian law. These limits are discussed as part of the counselling process.

Appointments

Cancellation & rescheduling policy

At Andrew Heggie Therapy, I understand that life can be unpredictable and circumstances may require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Given the high demand for appointment times, I ask that you provide at least 48 hours' notice for any changes to your booking.

How to cancel or reschedule

  • Online changes: You can adjust your appointment online up to 48 hours before your scheduled time.
  • Phone or email: For changes within 48 hours of your appointment, call 0452 433 565 or email admin@andrewheggie.com.au.

Cancellation fees

  • More than 48 hours' notice: No fee.
  • 24 to 48 hours' notice: $55 fee.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice, on the day of appointment, or no show: Full fee of the appointment.

Alternative options

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please consider online counselling or telephone consultation options where appropriate. These alternatives may allow you to continue your therapy session from a private space.
